Convinced.

I'm convinced that there is nothing that can happen to me in this life that is not precisely designed by a sovereign Lord to give me the opportunity to learn to know Him. ~ Elisabeth Elliot

I came across your message on Angie Smith's blog and watched your beautiful video. I am so sorry for your loss! I was with a friend when her baby died shortly after birth and was honored to take photos of him. I hope that God touches your heart with peace and His love in an amazing way as you grieve your sweet baby.

God does work all things for good out of the trials of life on this "sin-stained planet." Romans 8is so RICH, ladies! Here's just a taste that I thought would bless us today. (And if you don't have a Bible handy, just go to Biblegateway.com!)

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them. 29 For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like his Son, so that His Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And having chosen them, He called them to come to Him. And having called them, He gave them right standing with Himself. And having given them right standing, He gave them His glory."

My kids' grandpa, Robert Elliott McAllister, from British Columbia, was double cousins with Jim Elliott. Jim was Elizabeth's first husband. They were missionaries in Ecuador when Jim and his co-laborers were martyred by the "Auca" tribe. I hope my kids will understand that heritage one day. Tragic events yielded great fruit under God's mighty hand.

I, too, want to hold on to that great hope and promise.
